Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile, handwoven rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by carefully hand-weaving this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Tightly woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing heat retention.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For気になる汚れの場合：水で薄めた中性洗剤（毛・絹用）を固く絞ったタオル等で表面をやさしく拭いてください。その後丁寧に水拭きして、洗剤を拭きとってから風通しの良い日陰で乾かしてください。

Important Notes

Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed for shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
