Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for effective body temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh, hand-woven carefully one by one by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, is characterized by its fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, is also characterized by being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing heat from being felt.
And above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh created imaginatively by nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique original.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may occur.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping

If requested, the pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
