Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, strand by strand, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel thoroughly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed upon request for shipping

The pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
