Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for effective temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made from such wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and not feeling hot in summer.
And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed for shipping.
The pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
