Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, handwoven rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, essential for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel, containing a high amount of lanolin to regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, showcasing their superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
