Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh is a long-pile rug made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, hand-weaving wool dyed with natural plant dyes, deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its wool is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, made by hand-weaving this wool dyed with natural dyes, one by one by Iranian nomads, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting outstanding durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and not hot in summer.
And above all, its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often features animal and plant designs, making each piece a unique, one-of-a-kind original.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh is woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dye used to color the wool may occur.
Please note that the scent will gradually fade with use.

Pom-poms can be removed for shipping

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
