Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs, deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. These rugs are hand-woven using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, allowing it to withstand the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps regulate body temperature.
The Gabbeh, hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand, using wool dyed with natural dyes, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering comfort without feeling hot.
And, above all, their artistic quality. The Gabbeh created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original creation.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
