Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to efficiently regulate body temperature.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weave, and dye. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
