Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture with abundant oil content to help sheep regulate their body temperature in the harsh Zagros Mountains.
These Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads with wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilventilated shade.
Please Note
Due to the nature of hand-weaving, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pompoms can also be removed before shipping.
If requested, we can ship your Gabbeh with the pompoms on the corners and in the middle removed.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
