Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who weave them by hand in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft to the touch with a rich oil content that helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads one thread at a time after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting outstanding durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable, preventing heat in summer.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh created by the nomads from their imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive smell from the dyes used on the wool.
Please note that the smell will gradually dissipate with use.
Pompoms can also be removed before shipping.
The pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
