Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs, deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads, who weave them by hand using vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant feel with high oil content that efficiently regulates body temperature.
Gabbeh, handwoven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, attesting to its superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing heat.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Please Note
Due to being handwoven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of handwoven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pom-poms can also be removed for shipping.
The pom-poms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed and shipped to you upon request.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
