Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs, rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who weave them by hand in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh, made by nomads who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously weave each strand by hand, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, with a characteristic that prevents them from feeling hot.

Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Points to Note
Due to being handwoven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand these as part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.
The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
