Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and its soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven piece by piece by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are also warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a comfortable feel that doesn't feel hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be used not only on the floor but also displayed as art on walls.
Why not find a special Gabbeh just for you that you can enjoy for a long time?
