Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads one strand at a time from this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be hung on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
