Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin for excellent temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh woven by Iranian nomads, meticulously hand-dyeing each strand of this wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, offering a cool feel.
And, of course, their artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used for the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping.
The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
