Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft to the touch, containing a high amount of lanolin for effective temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh is carefully hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in a fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool sensation.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
