Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, nomadic people who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They use vegetable-dyed wool and are deeply rooted in daily life. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft texture contains a high fat content that helps with body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering comfort even in heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
