Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled, vegetable-dyed wool rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and soft, pleasant-to-the-touch fibers rich in lanolin for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh are hand-woven by Iranian nomads, meticulously knot by knot, using this wool dyed with natural dyes, resulting in a distinctively plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing heat buildup.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we kindly ask for your understanding in advance.
