Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs, deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, who hand-weave them using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps in temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh are characterized by their plush, comfortable feel, as they are hand-woven, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting outstanding durability.
Created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
