Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs dyed with natural dyes, made from sheep's wool by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who hand-weave each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a sensation of coolness.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel thoroughly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed for shipping
The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
