Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, naturally dyed wool rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is soft to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used for the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed for shipping

If requested, we can ship the Gabbeh without the pom-poms attached to its corners or middle.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
