Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in soft and pleasant to the touch wool.
These Gabbeh, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their soft and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with large temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, so they don't feel hot.
And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap.
If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipment.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
