Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, strand by strand, using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be placed on the floor, but are also suitable for hanging on a wall as art.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool.
The smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
