Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handwoven items. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Tassels can be removed upon request for shipping

The tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment. Removing the tassels does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
