Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, making it soft and pleasant to the touch.
Gabbeh, made by Iranian nomads who carefully hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting outstanding durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, so they don't feel hot.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the nomads' imaginations, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on walls as art.

Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, dyeing inconsistencies, etc. Please be aware that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
