Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for effective temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel, woven by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, using this wool dyed with natural dyes.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be hung on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive smell from the dye used on the wool may occur.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If you request, the pompoms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
