Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs handwoven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps with temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, with the characteristic of not feeling hot.

Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being handwoven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dye used for the wool may occur.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can also be removed for shipping
The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
