Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool as an integral part of their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variand, possesses excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is due to the high fat content that helps with temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using natural dyes on this wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original item with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and uneven dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Consequently, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
While the odor will gradually fade with use, we kindly ask for your understanding in advance.
