Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of fat to regulate body temperature well, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-touch wool.
Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads, one by one, with this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, with the characteristic of not feeling hot.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dye used on the wool.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can also be removed before shipping

If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
