Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving in the harsh Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture rich in natural oils to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh, woven strand by strand with care by Iranian nomads using this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor, or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving inconsistencies, and dye unevenness. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the wool dyes.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
