Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, plant-dyed wool rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads one thread at a time using natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to be so durable that they can last 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also known for being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original creation.
They can be placed on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
