Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft texture contains a lot of oil for effective temperature regulation. Gabbeh, hand-woven by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant feel. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Gabbeh, created from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, is warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feel. And above all, its artistry. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving unevenness, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products. Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dyes may be present. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can also be removed for shipping

If requested, we can ship Gabbeh without the pom-poms located at the corners and in the middle.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
