Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, everyday rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically traverse the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in natural oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, and adept at regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads with this wool dyed with natural dyes, one strand at a time, are characterized by their plump and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
