Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture containing abundant oils to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads with this wool dyed with natural dyes, strand by strand, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
Please be aware that the odor will gradually dissipate with use.
