Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically live in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, essential for surviving the harsh conditions of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to the high oil content that helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their soft and fluffy feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is exceptionally durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, is warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing it from feeling hot.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, patterns, weave, and dye. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh is woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may be present.
This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
