Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh, hand-woven piece by piece by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing heat.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping
If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
