Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes, and are deeply rooted in their daily life. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, possesses excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture contains a high amount of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, is characterized by its plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms attached to the corners or sides of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
