Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, made by meticulously hand-weaving this wool dyed with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And, above all, their artistic quality stands out. The Gabbeh created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original item.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
