Characteristics of the Region (Sirjan)

Sirjan is a city located in southern Iran, part of Kerman Province. Kilims woven in Sirjan are also known as "Suzani" or "Silky Pich" and the city is registered by UNESCO as a kilim weaving region.
Sirjan kilims are characterized by their very dense and sturdy weave. Nomadic women weave them based on imagination without a pattern, so their delicacy and intricacy are astonishing. They are Soumak woven, with a surface that is not very fuzzy, and animal and geometric patterns are often seen.
Furthermore, Sirjan kilims often feature deep colors, with dyes extracted from cherries for red, eggplant skin for blue, saffron for yellow, walnut leaves for green, and walnut shells or tobacco for brown. These characteristics have earned Sirjan kilims high international acclaim and made them beloved as beautiful works of art.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular traditional hand-woven textiles that become richer in character with age. Depending on the era they were woven, they are called vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. Most kilims are made of wool, but some are also produced using cotton or silk. They use natural materials. Since natural dyes are used for coloring, you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups known as tribal rugs. They are characterized by geometric patterns featuring motifs of nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
Various ethnic groups live in the vast land of Iran. The designs and colors vary by region, offering a diverse range of patterns to enjoy.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are not simply used as carpets or floor coverings; they are also widely used as decorative items for walls, sofas, tables, beds, and other interior furnishings. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often utilized as accent pieces in rooms. Kilims are not just decorative items; they are important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to a living space. By using kilims, you can create a life surrounded by art and comfort, enjoying a home filled with things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims are incredibly versatile and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent. For natural and Scandinavian interiors, combining them with wooden furniture, plants, or other natural materials enhances the kilim's warmth and natural ambiance. They also pair well with a bohemian atmosphere; laying them on the floor or hanging them on the wall elevates the entire room's feel. Kilims have an ethnic design and tribal feel, making them a good match for interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, or Morocco. Arranging them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If stains are a concern, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, uneven weaving, or dye irregularities. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
