Characteristics of the production area (Sirjan)

Sirjan is a city located in southern Iran, belonging to Kerman Province. The kilims woven in Sirjan are called "Suzani" or "Silky Pichi" and the production area of these kilims is registered with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).

Sirjan kilims are characterized by their extremely dense and sturdy weave. Woven by nomadic women based on their imagination without a pattern, their delicacy and intricacy are astonishing. They are Soumak woven, with little fluff on the surface, and often feature animal and geometric patterns.

Furthermore, Sirjan kilims often have deep color tones, with dyes extracted from cherries for red, eggplant skin for blue, saffron for yellow, walnut leaves for green, and walnut shells or tobacco for brown. Due to these characteristics, Sirjan kilims are highly regarded worldwide and cherished as beautiful handicrafts.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular traditional hand-woven textiles that become more appealing with age. Depending on when they were woven, they are called vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. Most kilims are made of wool, but some kilims are also produced using cotton or silk. They use natural materials. Natural dyes are also used for coloring, so you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups, known as tribal rugs. They are characterized by geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each kilim has its own unique design.

Various ethnic groups live in the vast land of Iran. The design and color characteristics vary by region, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of design patterns.

Other uses for Kilims

Kilims are not only used as rugs or floor coverings but are also widely used as decorative items for walls, sofas, tables, beds, and other interiors. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often utilized as accents in a room. Kilims are not just decorative items; they are important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to a room's space. By utilizing kilims, you can create a life with art and comfort, and enjoy living surrounded by things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

The use of kilims is highly flexible and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent to the area. For natural or Nordic interiors, combining a kilim with wooden furniture, plants, or other natural materials can enhance its warmth and natural atmosphere. They also go well with a bohemian vibe; laying them on the floor or hanging them on the wall enhances the overall room's atmosphere. Kilims have an ethnic design and tribal feel, making them compatible with interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, or Morocco. Arranging them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If concerned about stains, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel thoroughly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe carefully with water to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
