Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is rich in lanolin, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a sensation of coolness.
And above all, there's its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a piece you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then air dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur.
This scent will gradually disappear with use, but we kindly ask for your understanding in advance.
