Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads, who herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to help regulate body temperature.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
