Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. These rugs are made from hand-spun, vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variat wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and for its high fat content, which helps regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven piece by piece by Iranian nomads using this natural dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original and unique item. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. How about finding your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, as well as weaving and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may produce a distinctive odor from the dyes used. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can also be removed for shipping

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
