Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool. These are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a high oil content, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously one by one by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last 100 years. Gabbeh rugs, born from the climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, so they don't feel hot. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing unevenness. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may be present. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the pom-poms does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
