Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-knotted by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of fat to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

As these are hand-knotted, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-knotted product. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
