Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains environment, and its soft, pleasant texture is due to its high oil content, which helps with body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously one by one by Iranian nomads from this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feel.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imaginations, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique and original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
How about finding your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove any detergent residue and dry it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool.
This smell will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms to be removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via the email or phone number below.
