Characteristics of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variat wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in lanolin to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling fibers.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original and unique item.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weave irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used to color the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping

The pom-poms located at the corners and in between on Gabbeh rugs can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
