Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool as part of their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is rich in natural oils, which helps with temperature regulation. These Gabbeh, woven piece by piece by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be used on the floor, of course, but also displayed as art on walls. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dyes used to color the wool may be present. The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pompoms can also be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you would like the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
