Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils to effectively regulate body temperature. Gabbeh woven by Iranian nomads, with this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, indicating its excellent durability. Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And then there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time? Daily Care Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shade. Important Notes Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance. Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us by email or phone below.
