Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh is a long-pile rug deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Varied wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, one thread at a time, using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, indicating their superior durability. Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, is warm in winter and airy in summer, with the characteristic of not feeling hot. And above all, there is its artistry. The Gabbeh created by the imagination of nomads often features designs of animals and plants, and each piece is a unique original. It can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Vacuum or sweep along the pile to remove dirt and dust. If you need to clean a stain: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with clean water, wipe off any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving. Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dye used on the wool may occur. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
