Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh is a long-pile rug deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Varied wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively. Daily Care

Vacuum or sweep along the pile to remove dirt and dust. If you need to clean a stain: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with clean water, wipe off any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shade.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving. Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dye used on the wool may occur. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
